The mystery of who the inspiration is for Taylor Swift’s latest song ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ is finally solved, this time revealed by the country singer herself.
In an interview with the UK’s The Sunday Times, the 23-year-old singer revealed that her current hit single ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ is about none other than her latest ex, One Direction’s Harry Styles.
In the interview, Swift talked about her feelings about her emotional performance of the said song at the Brit Awards, where she donned a wedding dress while Styles was in the audience.
“Well, it’s not hard to access that emotion when the person the song is directed at is standing by the side of the stage watching,” explained Swift. “You’re balancing the analytical side of your brain, which is telling you where to go and how to go there, with the other side of your brain, which is saying ‘Feel everything you’re singing, and show it on your face. Feel everything exactly as you felt it when you wrote the song.’”
The country pop singer is known to let out her feelings in her songs.
“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, the first album single from her new album Red, is rumoured to be about actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The song “Starlight” is rumoured to be about her summer romance with Conor Kennedy.
In her last album Speak Now, the songs Dear John and The Story of Usare said to be about John Mayer. The hit song Back to December is about her abrupt relationship with Valentine’s Day co-star Taylor Lautner. Her song Last Kiss and Forever and Alwaysare about Joe Jonas. The song Better than Revenge is allegedly about Camilla Belle, who was rumored to be the reason Swift and Jonas broke up.
