Nike is stirring the social media world with its latest Tiger Woods ad showing a picture of the gold champ overlaid with a quote that says ‘Winning takes care of everything.’The ad that was posted on Facebook and Twitter was conceptualized to allude to the fact that despite going through career stumbles, the golfer was able to recover and regain his title as the world’s number one.
Some critics, though, find it inappropriate in light of the recent controversies regarding Wood’s marriage. This is the latest controversy from the famous golfer. He has long used the catchy phrase, since 2009, to answer to reporters who ask him about his rankings.
The ad garnered about 8,000 likes and 2, 000 shares on Facebook. Netizens also took the efforts to comment and congratulate Woods on the ranking but there are those who commented that the ad sends the wrong message given his past marital history. The champion’s marriage to Elin Nordegren ended in 2010 due to Wood’s multiple affairs revelations.
