With its ensemble of superheroes and antiheroes, The Avengers stood victorious over other films at the MTV Movie Awards. The superhero movie bagged three awards, including the top prize: movie of the year. The movie also won awards for the best fight and best villain for actor Tom Hiddleston.

Joss Whedon, the movie’s writer-director, accepted the valued popcorn and said that the movie of the year award meant the most to him. He also revealed in his speech that 2015 would mark the showing of The Avengers 2.
