Mariah Carey vs. Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj is also following Mariah Carey’s footsteps out the door. She tweeted. “Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!!!”
American Idol has been experiencing double-digit declines in ratings. Carey was considered a draw for the show with producers highlighting the tension between Carey and sharp-tongued hip hop diva Nicki Minaj.

With the judges’ recent departure announcements, speculation rises that American Idol will be going through yet another reboot featuring an entirely new set of judges. Just a few days ago, Randy Jackson also announced that he would be saying goodbye to the aging singing competition. “I just think I’ve been through a lot of iterations of the show.” he shared.
